Orange Township Electric Program
Electric Aggregation Program
Orange Township is providing you with the opportunity to join with other residents and businesses to receive preferred rates on the electric you use. The program is possible through a concept called government aggregation, where Township officials bring together citizens to gain group-buying power for the purchase of electric from a retail supplier certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Township voters approved this program in November 2014.
Under this arrangement, AEP Energy has been selected as your Townships preferred electricity provider. AEP Energy is an Ohio-based company and a Subsidiary of AEP Ohio. Please note, AEP Energy is supplier and AEP Ohio is the local utility.
Under this Electric Aggregation Program, eligible residents in Orange Township, starting with the July 2015 billing cycle (depending on your meter-read date), will pay 0.06757 cents per kWh through the May 2016 billing cycle, and then 0.06098 cents per kWh through the July 2017 billing cycle, for a period of twenty-four (24) months. There is no cost for the enrollment and you will not be charged a switching fee. AEP Energy’s price applies to the generation portion of your electricity bill.
Budget billing of the entire bill is available to anyone who chooses / prefers budget certainty. As with the utility you will still be required to request the service directly from the supplier.
For billing, reporting an electric outage, or to have level billing for the AEP Ohio portion of the bill please call AEP Ohio directly at 1-800-672-2231.
To join the aggregation program you can reach AEP Energy at 1-877-726-0214, weekdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.
