PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The Ohio Department of Transportation is reaching out to notify you of an upcoming Public Hearing in regard to the proposed improved interchange at Interstate 71 and US Route 36/State Route 37 in Delaware County. The Public Hearing is scheduled to be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM at the Northgate Church located at 797 East State Route 37, Sunbury, Ohio, 43074. The attached advertisement, which is the official public notification of the Public Hearing and the availability of the EA for review and comment, will be published Sunday, June 25, 2017.
As you may recall, we presented three alternatives or routes under consideration during the Public Meeting Open House held April 28, 2016. The three alternatives were identified as Green, Blue and Purple. In the October 20, 2016 public meeting we recommended the preferred alignment as the Green alternative, as shown on the project website: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D06/projects/71/Pages/default.aspx.
This public hearing is an environmental requirement to share the environmental assessment (EA) which is available for review and comment starting Monday, June 26, 2017 at the following locations:
ODOT will accept comments on the EA until Friday, August 11, 2017. Please submit comments to my attention and contact me with any questions or concerns. My contact information is provided below. I will do my best to answer your questions and/or address your concerns.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
